More Than Soccer?

It has not even been 24 hours since the first post to this blog which was nothing more than a copy of a letter that was sent to certain parents of High School Girls Soccer players only.  The responses have been suprising and shall remain anonymous.  The following portions of responses indicate that there is a bigger problem at Bath than this writer may have originally supposed:

"... JV should NOT be under rules of Lashaway..."  anonymous comment
"Participation of the player is always determined by the coach.  Good coaches inspire greatness in their players and bad ones make rules to control them.  ...and I do not believe that the Athletic Director will do anything about it."  anonymous e-mail
"It's not just soccer and not just high school."  anonymous e-mail

After reading this letter and responses.....my only question is if the tide of disapproving parents, students and community members is large enough, who is responsible for instituting changes?
This should be posted on Facebook, school website, ect.
Due to the fact that there is very limited attendence at PTS, Booster's Club and School Board meetings, there has to be a way of getting the community involved.

I agree! I would like to know who is going to step up and be the face for these changes as well as the last commenter. My thought is that whoever takes that step needs to be someone without kids in the system. Experience tells me that consequences do come against kids from the in crowd.

Dear Bath Sports Parents,

I am a parent of two kids that go to Bath. They are both in in High school and neither are involved in sports anymore. I am not upset that they have decided not to participate in sports because they are wonderful just the way they are.

My son is a fan of his school teams and knows the players and coaches of just about every sport. I have asked him if he has heard anything about problems with the coaches or the sports. He told me that he has not. This leads me to believe that there are a few upset parents and that these issues are not affecting the players.

Bath teams are performing better than they have in a long time. I suggest that your group back off and let the kids decide whether coaches are stepping over a line or not.
